Belated Fourth of July Thoughts

As with every fourth, my husband became a kid in a candy shop while shopping for the fourth of july. If there is a holiday that is geared towards men, it has to be the fourth. They get to bbq on the grill, and that’s always followed with beer or some form of alcohol. Then there is the fact that we give them permission to play with fire so they can set off fireworks. It was a great time. Good friends, good food and two little ones that were fascinated by the fireworks. The night on the other hand, could not have been more aweful. We said good-bye to those leaving, and got those staying settled in for the night when one of our friends noticed flames outside. Our garage had caught on fire! Thankfully my husband is not afraid of fire, and single-handedly put the fire out while the rest of us grabbed babies and pets. Thank goodness the damage wasn’t too bad. The insurrance is coming out since it was a trash fire and we’ll see what happens.

Gotta love military men and fire…..

Here we go

Military Bride is my view of the world from a veteran, spouse, and mommy perspective. I’m sure it’s going to be a bumpy ride, but I don’t mind sharing triumphs and tears with you. I joined the Military at the age of 21, and met my husband not to long after. We’ve been married a little overĀ 3 years, and have a beautiful baby boy. My life has already gone through drastic changes, from getting out of the military, to becoming a mommy and going back to school. I look forward to sharing my experiences with you.
