Traveling home

I hate traveling. The grime seems to sink into your bones and no matter how you try, you are uncomfortable. The food always gives you an upset stomach no matter how healthy you eat ad you drink way more soda than normal. There are happy reasons to travel, like going to see family or vacation… and then there are sad reasons. Like this trip. We have to give my nephew back to his mother. The whole car was slightly melancholy at the thought. Its hardest on the little one. He kept telling us he didn’t want to go back.
How do you tell a little boy that legally he has to go back? How do you tell him that even if his mom leaves him all the time and he’d rather be with his dad, that he has to go back? So we made the best of the trip. Getting good food and stopping to see a train. We have a couple more days and are spending it at great grandmas but its still really sad. Is it bad that we are praying she isn’t there?

About Military Bride

Military Bride is my view of the world from a veteran, spouse, and mommy perspective. I’m sure it’s going to be a bumpy ride, but I don’t mind sharing triumphs and tears with you. I joined the Military at the age of 21, and met my husband not to long after. We’ve been married a little over 3 years, and have a beautiful baby boy. My life has already gone through drastic changes, from getting out of the military, to becoming a mommy and going back to school. I look forward to sharing my experiences with you.

  1. Sorry to hear of the struggles with his mother. Hopefully all of you will find a way to be a big, strong part of his life.
