My little family

Military Bride is my view of the world from a veteran, spouse, and mommy perspective. I’m sure it’s going to be a bumpy ride, but I don’t mind sharing triumphs and tears with you. I joined the Military at the age of 21, and met my husband not to long after. We’ve been married a little over 3 years, and have a beautiful baby boy. My life has already gone through drastic changes, from getting out of the military, to becoming a mommy and going back to school. I look forward to sharing my experiences with you.

It’s time to update my little family. We’ve grown in size, and will be growing more come June. I’ve left the originial pictures for you to enjoy, but some updating is needed.

Mr. Blue Eyes, Daddy and Mommy

Mommy is no longer in the military and enjoying being a wife and mom. She has a couple months left of school before getting her Cosmetology license. Daddy is still in the military and putting in an officer’s packet for the second time. Wish him luck! Baby Blue is walking, running and causing all sorts of trouble. Seems like such a long time ago that I was hoping he’d learn to crawl.

And the Pups
Gamble and Bear are seven month old pups who cause all kinds of trouble. Domino is mommy’s boy, but loves nothing more than chasing bikes. Blackjack is at the stage of his life when he thinks he has earned the right to do whatever he likes and normally gets away with it.

MY FAMILY:

Bride: I love a little bit of everything. I was in the Navy as an Air Traffic Controller. After the military I decided to go to school as a cosmetologist and I’m enjoying every minute of it. I’ve dabbled in most arts and crafts and enjoy a book book.

Groom: Hubby -S is still in the military and enjoys being outdoors. He’s pretty handy with some tools and his head for mathmatics makes my head spin. Taking the pups hiking is his idea of a good time.

Baby: Blue Eyes  I have the sweetest little blue eyed boy. He’s as active as can be but thankfully not quite crawling yet.

Pups: Blackjack and Domino….. Blackjack is a 7 year-old lab that’s as sweet as can be. He loves being with people and loves nothing more than a good swim. Domino is 1 year-old and has more energy than we know what to do with. You can take him swimming, to the park and on a run and he’ll still be ready for more.

  2. Hi! My name is elizabeth and I am a graduate student at the London School of Economics. I’m currently writing my dissertation about military spouses and blogging, and would love to learn more about your blog. I was wondering if you might be willing to be interviewed for my research. I can give you more details via email, and would be happy to do so (I don’t want to leave a ridiculously long comment!). If this sounds like something you would like to be involved with, please let me know! You can comment back here, or email me at eliz DOT lockwood [@] gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you! All the best, elizabeth

Thank you for your service and your husband’s as well! You’ve gone through a lot of change, you should be proud of yourself. Our life isn’t easy and to be a mom on top of that can’t be easy but you look like you’re doing great 🙂
